    Michele Tjaden

    Nurse Practitioner

     

    Michele received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in nursing at Immaculata University, as well as a post Master’s certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner. She’s certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has experience in family medicine. Michele believes that building trusting relationships with her patients is the foundation to helping them achieve their health and wellness goals.

     

    Outside of work, Michele enjoys traveling with her husband, reading, and spending time with her family and pets.

    Before joining the Marathon family I started out in Pediatrics, mainly PICU and ICU stepdown for 5 years. Ultimately, found my calling in Primary Care, as I love caring for, and forming relationships, with patients of all ages. While living at the beach I was a Clinical Lead/Clinical Director for a Primary Care office for 8 years before recently moving back home to Wilmington, DE.

     

    Out of work ~~> I am engaged and mom to 2 rescue furbabies- a dog and a cat. I love the beach and go back whenever possible. I also love reading, travelling in general, and watching football!

    Everyone can benefit from having a primary care provider (PCP). That’s why anyone on Dot’s insurance over the age of two can use the FHC for: 

    Allergy shots, vaccines, dermatology, lab services (blood draws), stitches, and more 

    Annual physicals, flu shots, skin checks, and well woman exams (all free!) 

    Treatment of common illnesses (strep throat, flu, sinus infections, etc.), including prescriptions and IV fluids. 

    Help finding advanced care for things like a hospital procedure, MRI, x-ray, or specialist
