Family Well-Being

At Dot Foods and Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI), one of our company values is family. We always aim to support everyone as though they are part of our family. We build genuine relationships where all are valued and respected—giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. A huge part of ensuring all employees and employee family members feel valued and respected is by providing benefits and resources that benefit the entire family.

Adoption Leave & Support

Adoption Leave

Parents are eligible to receive five weeks of paid leave when you legally adopt a child. This leave can be combined with other sick, personal, and vacation time and must be taken within 12 weeks of the child’s placement. For more information, see the benefits manual.

Adoption Reimbursement

Your employer will reimburse you up to $5,000 in eligible expenses per finalized adoption. You must be with Dot/DTI for at least one year in a full-time position to apply for this benefit. Adoption expenses can include:

  • Adoption agency and placement fees
  • Attorney fees
  • Courtroom costs
  • Transportation and lodging expenses

For more information, see the benefits manual.

Maternity Leave

Maternity Leave

If you are a female employee who gives birth, you are allowed to take up to 12 weeks off work through the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The time off is a combination of:

  • 1 week of Dot/DTI paid leave
  • 5 weeks of short-term disability (STD)
  • 4 more weeks of Dot/DTI paid leave

After those 10 weeks are taken, the employee would need to use paid time off (PTO) and, if needed, unpaid time off. See the New Additions Resource Guide for more information about this benefit.

Gradual Return to Work

Gradual Return to Work is a program that allows Dot/DTI moms to work shortened hours during their first three weeks back on the job after maternity leave while still being paid for full-time hours. See the New Additions Resource Guide for more information about this benefit.

Milk Stork

Dot knows that juggling the demands of motherhood and your career can be overwhelming. The Milk Stork program compliments Dot’s Gradual Return to Work policy by allowing mothers to ship breast milk home while traveling for work. See the New Additions Resource Guide for more information about this benefit.

Pet Insurance

Be more prepared for unexpected vet costs for your dogs, cats, and some other pets! With the addition of pet insurance through MetLife, pet parents have the power of choice to customize their pet insurance and meet their needs.
